Came home today after work instead of going to the store. Feeling like I'm getting sick and don't want it to get anyworse. Just had chicked noodle soup for dinner- should have eaten real dinner.

3.83 Miles
Ran during work today- I don't really like that because I feel like I have to hurry to get back which means I end up running fast. I meant to do 5 miles today, but somehow the route I took--which I thought would be longer--was even shorter than the campus 4 loop. Don't really get that. Felt pretty good today, legs kind of tired. It was cold outside!

3 Miles
I signed up for the Indy Mini in May today! So that means no marathon for me at the moment, but it's probably a smarter choice anyway... I was almost ready to sign up for the Flying Pig, but then found out everyone else would be training for the Mini so I decided I'll use the spring training to work on getting under 2 hours. I was so close before!!
So I really am going to start using this to track how much I run, if I go to the gym, and what I eat. I decided the separate posts didn't make any sense so I'll just try to do one a day.
Ran 3 miles at the SRSC today. I need to remember how boring that is when I'm considering it again. It was raining outside today and I didn't really have a choice, but boy was it boring! Tomorrow I'm going to try to run 5- hopefully in the snow :-) yay!
Food:
B: cheerios, tea, milk
L: pb&j, tea, tea
D: spagetti, salad
S: pb and banna toast, orange
Still not drinking enough.

3 miles
Ran super easy today with the group- a little less than 3 miles. My legs are sore from the gym yesterday.
After I ran I went and did a few weights, although I went easy on my legs. My right leg hurt doing the hip machine which worries me.

5 miles
Yesterday: Ran on the indoor track today because it was raining and cold outside. So to make it a little less boring I decided to run 400's because that's two laps right there.
Ran a mile warmpu
1- 1:55
2- 1:55 (messed up watch on first two- something around that time)
3- 1:49
4- 1:52
5- 1:55
6- 1:51
5 minute break
7- 1:50
8- 1:49
9- 1:48
10- 1:52
11- :52
12- 1:48
1 mile cooldown. So I was running around 8 minute pace which seemed like nearly sprinting to me. How did I ever keep that up for a 5k pace?? Today was more boring than anything else really. Not too hard although the last few were a little hard.

Ice cream time!
I went to the gym today and weighed myself and I'm 98.6 lbs. So..I think that means I get to go on my ice cream diet because I still haven't reached my goal of being over 100. Actually, since none of my pants fit right after my half marathon (and they do now again) I think I may have lost weight since then. I don't know...I'm going to work on the higher calorie diet again.
I need to drink more water too.

A new goal?
My first post on this blog! Yesterday was Thanksgiving and I ran the very unofficial Turkey Trot at BBC. A very dissapointing race because it took me 28:20! That's like 5 minutes slower than my XC times. So that was kind of frustrating especially since I ran that pace for the whole half marathon a month ago. My training really went downhill fast!
Today I ran this morning and also had a pretty bad run. I ran a 5 mile loop around campus reallllly sloooowly! 11:15 pace- yikes! Actually, I think I've been running my long runs too fast so maybe that was good. I ran about the first 4.5 miles with side cramps and only finally started feeling okay at the very end. I think I ate too much breakfast and tried to run not long after. I also was not happy with my clothes choice and was too hot. But tomorrow hopefully will be better!
If I really am going to run a marathon- I haven't signed up yet :-) - I'm going to have have higher weekly mileage. I guess I still have a little time to decide since I will probably run it in May. 6 months out still! Right now my focus in building back up mileage wise and get faster to break back into the 25 minute bracket for 5K's. That's still slow but I don't need another 28 minute one for sure!
So guess that's it for now. I went to the gym today and found some exercises that I think will make me stronger and a really cool stretching machine! I want to do a better job on core strength and stretching this time around. We'll see if I can keep it up!
